november: conscience and the moral law

Following up on the class on relativism, this seminar explores whether or not moral norms are man-made social constructs or objective truths that can be discovered by reason. the understanding of conscience and the importance of following one’s conscience are shaped by one’s understanding of morality. We also explore how conscience bridges general moral criteria with particular moral actions performed by individuals.
